Brandon Harris
Founder
Brandon Harris is the founder of Folklore House, a culture holding company backing tattoo shops, barber shops, galleries, bookstores and independent publishers with patient minority capital.
Brandon Harris founded Folklore House on a single conviction: the institutions that actually hold a neighborhood together are privately owned, undercapitalized and treated by finance as lifestyle businesses.
Before the House, he spent his career close to operators, watching good shops with full books close over a lease clause nobody read. Folklore House was built as the opposite of a flip: minority stakes, indefinite holds, and an explicit rule that the art is never ours to touch.
He writes House Notes, runs the Writer Residency, and sits at the operator dinners the House hosts around the world.

Folklore House is a culture holding company. We take minority stakes in the shops, galleries, bookstores and independent labels that function as real cultural institutions, and we build the business systems around them so owners never have to sell out to scale. Owners keep creative control and majority equity. We bring capital, back office, lease and vendor negotiation, and a twenty year hold.
